The Ligonier Valley Library's Pennsylvania Room is planning a one-day bus trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for Friday, May 13. The trip is just one of the activities taking place during the 2011 Historic Photography Show - Ligonier Valley Goes To War, 1861-1865: The American Civil War - which will go on display from May 3 - 31, 2011.
The deadline to register for the Pilgrimage is Saturday, April 9th. The library is open from 10 am - 5 pm that day.
Those who journey on the pilgrimage will leave from St. James Lutheran Church in Ligonier at 6am. Once in Gettysburg, they will travel the historic battlefields of Gettysburg and witness history come alive through the eyes of a Gettysburg National Military Park Licensed Guide. Your visit will include the Gettysburg Cyclorama, the Film "A New Birth of Freedom" and the Gettysburg Museum of the Civil War, all at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, a guided Battlefield Tour, a tour of the David Wills House, a box lunch, dinner at the Dobbin House Tavern, RT transportation, meal gratuity, and taxes.
The cost is $99 per person. You can download a Reservation Form and Trip Itinerary from this page or pick one up at the library. The reservation portion of the form and your payment need to be returned to the library no later than Saturday, April 9. Please make checks payable to the Ligonier Valley Library.
