Looking for a new job? Carol Silvis, author of Job Hunting After 50 and 101 Ways to Make Yourself Indispensable at Work, will present a program at the library on how to represent yourself to an employer in the most favorable way. Information includes updating your professional image, anticipating interview questions and formulating answers, and dos and don'ts of preparing resumes. Tips will be given for searching online job sites and individual company websites and filling out online job applications.

Ms. Silvis appeared on HMC-TV Channel 20 in June 2011 and was video interviewed by Tory Johnson for ABCNews.com. She has a Master's in Adult Education and is an associate director and department chair at Newport Business Institute. She is president of Pennwriters, Inc., a 400-member writing group, and received the Pennwriters 2008 Meritorious Service Award.

This program is free and will be held in the Ligonier Valley Library's basement community room on Wednesday, September 28th at 7:00 pm. A book signing will follow the lecture. Copies of her book will be available for sale.
