HERE WE GO STEELERS!!! HERE WE GO!!!

Our beloved Pittsburgh Steelers are in Tampa getting ready for the greatest game in football.... the Superbowl!!!

Like all good fans, we are wearing our Black & Gold and displaying our pride in the team everywhere we can... even the library blog is now decorated in Black & Gold (not to mention the library itself).

Terrible towels are hanging and every one is talking about the much anticipated Superbowl XLIII. So, it's hard to imagine that anyone living in Pennsylvania could be clueless about football. I know, but it's true! Such people do exist, Virginia!

Never fear though, the Ligonier Valley Library is here to help.

Whether you've been a loyal fan since childhood or this superbowl is your first game... let us assist you in unlocking the mysteries of the great gridiron sport.

Naturally, we have quite a bit on the Pittsburgh Steelers, including every book written by Jim O'Brien and the DVD from our last trip to the Superbowl. If you delve further into our collection though, you'll discover that we have everything you wanted (or didn't want) to know about football, the players, coaches, greatest moments and more. So stop in and we'll help you out!

Ahhh... just remember to wear your BLACK & GOLD!!!!!!

"Recycle A Book" Sale is underway!!!

All items in the sale are .25 cents.
Some of the items were donated and some were withdrawn from our collection. There are hardbacks, paperbacks and most of them have been well-loved, but all of them are too valuable to just be thrown away. So, stop by and give an old book new life... you never know what treasures await you.

Don't wait! The sale will end on February 21st!!!

While you are here, don't forget to visit the Re-Readables Bookstore located on the 1st floor. All items sold in the store are individually prices, and are not a part of the book sale.

"Snow & Ice in Days of Old" Exhibit

Currently on display in the Pennsylvania Room, "Snow & Ice in Days of Old" features framed prints and drawings that make you cold just to look at them! You will also see old skates and sleds, old tools from the by-gone days of the ice industry, and even a one-horse sleigh with a buffalo robe.

Be sure to stop and take a look at the items in the display cases outside the Pennsylvania Room and the library.

The exhibit is open during regular Pennsylvania Room hours and will run until February 28th. So, bring your hot chocolate and stop in for a wintry trip back in time!
